A "limited" palette is a color palette that has been selected to favor certain qualities of color while limiting others. The most common limited palettes prioritize harmony and value control over a full chromatic range (sometimes known as saturation.) Others limit the range of value on a palette and prioritize color mixing to produce hue and chroma variations that are more nuanced.
I'll be teaching with oil paint, as it's the most common painting medium, but you're welcome to use acrylic or gouache as well (they'll function *mostly* the same as how I work with oils), or if you're a color pencil or watercolor artist- you're welcome to work with those, but you'll need to be more indirect, and use layers to take full advantage of the concepts. There will be an additional bonus video lesson that shows how you could use a limited palette in color pencil.
Yup! I've worked hard to create a workshop that will support artists of all levels, and I know that there will be lots of relevant concepts that you'll be able to introduce into your own personal studio practice after our workshop wraps up. Additionally, the recordings will be available to you (without an expiration date!), so you'll be able to go back and rewatch at any time and pick up new insights as your own practice develops.
