Looking to refresh or reinvigorate your sketchbook practice this extended holiday season? Sketchbook Development: Mark-making & Materials is a focused, hands-on version of our beloved Sketchbook Development course- designed to help you expand your mark-making vocabulary, discover new material possibilities, and fill your pages with richer visual expression.

In this 5-week live online course, we’ll work through a series of short-form exercises and time-limited prompts that emphasize how we draw, testing different tools, surfaces, pressures, speeds, and textures. By drawing familiar subjects in unfamiliar ways, changing materials, layering mediums, and pushing the physical limits of each mark, you’ll sharpen your tactile awareness and build a more versatile, confident drawing practice.

Join us over Zoom on Monday evenings for guided exercises, artist references, and thoughtful, encouraging feedback. While there’s no pressure to create finished work, I’ll offer constructive critiques to help you strengthen your drawings and stay engaged with your sketchbook practice. This is a space to experiment, improve, and draw consistently alongside a supportive community of creative peers!
