The bones are the dependable, stable scaffolding of the human body- and the foundation of every great figure drawing. Yet skeletal anatomy is one of the most understudied aspects of artistic training. This course is designed to change that.

Through a comprehensive exploration of the entire skeletal system, you’ll learn to see the figure not as an idealized diagram, but as a living, structured form. Using a constellational approach- identifying and connecting the major bony landmarks, you’ll gain the tools to apply anatomical knowledge to any figure, not just the textbook “ideal.”

Note: We will be utilizing images of the unclothed classical, artistic figure for our studies, both in the photographic format as well as drawings, paintings, and sculpture.
